Prof. (Ms.) Jayamanne is graduated from University of Sri Jayawardenepura in 1979 with a special Degree in Biology offering Fisheries as a special subject. She has also earned her MPhil degree in the field of Fisheries from University of Sri Jayawardenepura in 1991 for which she won a merit award from the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka.

The 5th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture (ICFA 2018)

The International Institute of Knowledge Management takes the great pleasure to announce that the 5thInternational conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture 2018 will be held on 23rd and 24th August, Colombo, Sri Lanka under the theme “Facing the Global Fisheries and Aquaculture Challenges”.  Academicians, researchers, industry experts, policy makers, professionals and enthusiastic attendees are invited to send research original research abstracts, case studies formatted according to the given format.

Covering spheres of Aquatic animals, plants in fresh or marine water aquaculture create plenty of opportunities for human. Currently the field of fisheries and aquaculture became one of the most addressable and dominant field in economic stream in the world. Fisheries products are the world’s most widely traded foods, with commerce dominated by both of developed and developing countries. ICFA 2018 make an international intellectual gathering for bringing the fields of fisheries and aquaculture forward with advanced and solid techniques applicable for sustainable future. Utilizing fisheries and Aquaculture for meeting the food demand with food security, Enhancing Aquaculture Securing Climate change and sustainability and Developing Fisheries and Aquaculture in urban areas for the betterment of national and international level will be addressed during the conference.

Dr Albert G.J. Tacon is Technical Director of Aquatic Farms Ltd in Hawaii, and works as an international aquaculture consultant, specializing in aquatic feeds and nutrition. After obtaining his PhD in fish nutrition at University College (University of Wales, UK – 1978).
