The Success Story of the 8th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture (ICFA 2021)

The 8th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture (ICFA 2021) was held on 19th – 20th of August 2021 in Virtual Platform under the theme of “Managing Fisheries and Aquaculture Under New Normal Environment: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities”. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with The South – South Aquaculture and Fisheries Cooperation as the Hosting Partner, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand as the Strategic Partner, Center for Fisheries Research, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia, Mulawarman University, Indonesia, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, Nong Lam University, Vietnam, University of Jember, Indonesia and University of Lampung, Indonesia as the Academic Partners.

With over 75+ participants representing 20+ countries, ICFA 2021 welcomed Local and International Industry Experts, Researchers, Practitioners, International educational institutions, Organizations and Civil society to this great knowledge sharing platform. The Conference was chaired by Dr. Rohana Subasinghe, Former President of the World Aquaculture Society – Asia Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC), Dr. Krishna R. Salin, Associate Professor, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, Dr. Albert G.J. Tacon, Technical Director, Aquahana LLC, USA and Dr. Ravi Fotedar, Curtin University, Australia.

Inauguration Ceremony

The welcome address of ICFA 2021 was made by Mr. Isanka P Gamage, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM). The opening remarks were made by the Conference Co-Chairs Dr. Rohana Subasinghe, Former President of the World Aquaculture Society – Asia Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC) and Dr. Krishna R. Salin, Associate Professor, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
