The Success Story of ICFA 2019
The 6th International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture 2019, was held on 22nd – 23rd August 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand under the theme “Sustainable Aquaculture: Nutritional Security and Exports”. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and University Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia as the Co-hosting partners while Curtin University, Malaysia, Maejo University, Thailand, University of Baltistan Skardu, Pakistan, Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU), India and Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka., as academic partners, and the Department of Fisheries (DoF), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand as the supportive ministry for this year’s conference. ICFA 2019 welcomed all the key personnel and delegates in the discipline of fisheries and aquaculture.
Inauguration Ceremony
The opening remarks of ICFA 2019 were made by the Conference Chair Dr. Ravi Fotedar (Curtin University, Australia) together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management). Mrs. Chuanpid Chantarawathit, Expert in Fisheries Foreign Affairs Division, Department of Fisheries (DoF), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand delivered the key speech on behalf of the chief guest Dr. Adisorn Promthep (Director-General of Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand).
Conference Hosting and Academic Partners Appreciation
In valuing the significant contribution to the ICFA 2019 conference both Co-hosting as well as academic partner Universities were recognized during the conference. The appreciation awards were presented to the following accordingly:

Keynote Forum
The Keynote forum was one of the significant sessions of the Conference and it was enlightened by Dr.Krishna R. Salin (Associate Professor and Program Chair, Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand) on the topic “Eco-Friendly and Energy-Efficient Coastal Aquaculture Development in Asia”. Dr. Yuan Derun (Senior Programme Officer, Sustainable Farming System, Programme, Education and Training Programme, Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), Thailand) also delivered the keynote speech titled “Aquaculture: The Growth Limitation and Untapped Opportunities”. Next in line was Dr. Ravi Fotedar (Curtin University, Australia) who delivered the speech on “Do Advances in Aquaculture Nutrition Contributes to Aquaculture Sustainability?”.
